Biography

Anthony Ray Gardner, Junior was born at Pitt County Memorial Hospital (Vidant Medical Center) to Anthony Ray Gardner, Senior, and Angela Gardner. He is the eldest of two children, with one younger brother, Antwan Gardner. Throughout his life, Anthony has experienced challenges that many his age could hardly imagine, yet he has remained a talented, gifted, and quiet individual, always focused on his purpose.

In December 2013, Anthony was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a rare form of cancer. By April 2014, he was cancer-free and began the journey of recovery from the lasting effects of treatment. His resilience and faith have shaped his mission to inspire and support others facing similar battles.

On June 11, 2016, Anthony graduated from North Lenoir High School, receiving his high school diploma. He currently resides in Kinston, North Carolina, with his father, mother, and brother.

Determined to turn his own experiences into a source of encouragement for others, Anthony is actively pursuing his dream of supporting cancer patients and survivors, particularly teenagers and young adults. His message to them is one of hope and strength, reminding them that cancer is not the end of the road but rather a detour on the journey toward brighter days.

A proud Pirate graduate of East Carolina University, Anthony earned his Bachelor of Science in University Studies on December 15th, 2023. He is now a current Graduate Student at East Carolina University, pursuing his Master of Arts in Adult Education, with plans to graduate in May of 2025.
